COVID-19 Update

The COVID-19 pandemic has been making its way round the world since the end of 2019. In the last few months, many companies have become aware of the benefit of proper workplace hygiene, and the only way to achieve this in light of the current pandemic is with quality cleaning supplies.

We at Raemart were already aware of the importance of disposable cleaning products, particularly their effectiveness against viruses and bacteria. However, as this is something many businesses have had to become familiar with very quickly, we have put together an update to explain things in more detail.

What impact has the pandemic had on the cleaning industry?

Many of us know the background behind the COVID-19 pandemic. It is believed to have started in a wet market in Wuhan, China, after which it quickly spread around the globe. As no one really knew the danger, many governments were slow to react in locking down their borders.

The result, of course, was the fairly quick spread of the illness. Many countries and industries struggled to put measures in place to deal with the pandemic, and the cleaning industry was definitely no exception.

While many companies thought that their supplies would be enough, this was quickly proved wrong. A large portion of stock was obviously sent to hospitals, and as many businesses shut down, we all believed there would be a drop in demand. However, this turned out to be very wrong.

How has the industry overcome the issue?

The first reaction to this shortage was for companies to go into overdrive producing high volumes of disposable cleaning products. These are one of the most effective measures for dealing with COVID-19, which can stay alive on surfaces for up to 72 hours. This means that it is imperative for surfaces to be cleaned regularly in order to combat the virus’s spread.

Luckily, now that we’ve had enough time to adjust to new levels of demand, stock is slightly easier to acquire. However, there are still potential shortages for things like gloves and masks, as these are becoming more popular with the general public.

Cleaning products are one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of the virus. Regular cleaning is a must, as this is the only way to kill any virus found on hard surfaces.

We at Raemart want to reassure our customers that we are able to cope with new higher levels of demand. Our stock levels are good enough that we are having very few issues providing you with what you need, so please feel confident in placing an order today.
